Summer Magic at Austin Country Club

This sweet couple has been together since they were just freshmen in high school in Lubbock, and now have gone to Baylor and UT Law School together! We always love being part of every love story, and there is something so fun about high school sweethearts.

When we asked Grace about her vision for their wedding day, she said she had always known she wanted to go with pinks and whites, and that their amazing planner, Barbara Shorts of Verve Events, helped guide her in the rest of the design from there.

Before the wedding, Grace had a custom patch made of her baby photo for the inside of her dad’s jacket which turned out to be one of her favorite things! She also had custom necklaces made for herself and her mom out of her great-grandmother’s diamonds, and surprised her mom with the necklaces on the morning of the wedding.

Her bouquet and her bridesmaids’ bouquets were wrapped in scraps from her mom’s wedding dress, and Benton’s wedding gift to her was diamond earring studs that he had made out of the two little diamonds her dad gave her mom on the day she was born!

She was radiant and timeless in her Monique Lhuillier gown, and we loved watching Benton wait for his beautiful bride at the altar in his Generation Tux.

Grace said that some of her favorite details from the day were “Bernie’s bar, the embroidered napkins, the custom patch inside my dad’s tux, our matching little vow books, the tequila shot glasses on the dance floor, and the tambourines.”

The amount of thought and care that went into all of the details for their wedding was so apparent, and made the day that much more special!

Grace told us that the biggest surprise of the day was when “we cut into our cake and it was styrofoam!! We didn’t get the memo that the bottom layer was just for support so I threw the chunk of styrofoam under the table and we fed each other the fondant icing instead!”
